The Outstanding Service to the Accounting Profession Award is the Institute’s second-highest honour, celebrating individuals who have gone beyond expectation to advance the profession and its role in building sustainable communities and economic outcomes. This year, ISIA proudly recognises Baoro Laxton Koraua for his remarkable career and contribution.

With more than four decades of experience, Baoro has worked across diverse industries — from aviation, education, and oil and gas to telecommunications and non-profits — bringing expertise in audit, tax, corporate finance, and advisory services. He is the sole shareholder of Baoro & Associates CPA Ltd and Yam & Co Chartered Accountants, having established his own firm in 2010 after a career spanning the Office of the Auditor General, Solomon Airlines, Deloitte (PNG), Air Niugini, and Forum Fisheries Agency, among others.

Baoro’s service extends beyond practice: he has been President of ISIA twice, a board member of the Central Bank of Solomon Islands, and has held leadership roles with SINPF, Solomon Telekom, and M-Selen. His contributions have shaped governance, strengthened institutions, and mentored countless professionals.
